Beautiful day for a 13 mile urban hike through the streets of San Francisco. So fun in the city, never know what you may run across. In the morning there was a swim for a fundraiser going on, apparently from the shore of Ghirardelli around to the Golden Gate Bridge, pretty far and cold too! Then off to Boudin's for coffee, croissants and a loaf of sourdough bread. Then onto Chinatown for a New Year's Festival. I got a lovely stuffed horse for my daughter because this is her year. There are 12 animals in the Chinese zodiac and they come around once every 12 years. As we were walking toward the financial district and the mall we heard a band playing and went to check it out. Pretty cool 7 piece street band with horn section playing in Union Square. Then we had lunch at the mall and off to the Ferry building. From there we walked along the Wharf back to Fort Mason where we always park, it is one of the few free parking in all of the city. And this was our haul for the day, dim sum, noodle puffs (a great Chinese pastry item), bread and a horse.
